EMRE NAMYETER

Emre Namyeter’s art has always been about one fundamental idea: perception.

Perception can be defined as a process by which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions to give meaning to their environment.

It is because of perception that Emre has been drawn to understanding how each of us can understand, sense, and give meaning to things differently throughout our lives.

On the other hand, human nature is defined by our paradigms, which color our perception by filtering reality. These filters are influenced by our experiences throughout life as we learn about our surroundings. As information passes through our senses, we recognize an order and link it to our personal experiences to help us define what we know to be true. However, through this process, we tend to see and understand things not as they are, but as we are.

Emre tries to make each person focus on their own reality by using lines, colors, forms, motion, patterns, and textures, and simply create their own perception of his artwork.
